When to run the play

Starts as soon as the project does, and ends when the project does. Typically it happens at the same time every 2 weeks.

Why run the play

To use senior management to improve the work. It is for the project team to enter into a detailed discussion with the most experienced members of staff about their observations and insights into the project. Then to develop those insights into considered and constructive ways to improve the work.

Rules

  • Demo what you do; people demo their own work
  • Put the work first; feedback is not a criticism, it’s suggestions for improvements

How to run the play

Step 1 — Produce a Production Update

(15 mins)

Only the Producer does this

Step 2 — Demo in the meeting

(30 mins)

Full Team

  • Agree on the order of the demo with the team before the meeting
  • Each team member takes it in turns to demo their work
  • Once the demo is finished ask senior management for their feedback
  • If feedback is given then the producer details it for the team to discuss in more detail in the next Daily Demo

Step 3 — Deliver Production Update

(30 mins)

Only Senior Management and Leads needed

  • Producer to raise all the points from their Production Status Board
  • If Senior Management give feedback then detail the feedback and action it during the next phase of Production
